Permanent Makeup Aftercare

I have done a lot of experimenting with aftercare, and I have come to find a great solution to everyone's needs. Everyone's tattoos heal differently and I have found these work with every style of tattooing.

Now that your tattoo is finished, it's your responsibility to take the best care possible!

DO:
* Wash gently until ALL plasma residue has been cleaned. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
* Damp/Pat completely dry.
* For Eyes and Brows; Use Aquaphor, or Curel Ultra Healing (for oily skinned people) for the best results. Keep thin, and rub it in. Leave no excess. A little bit goes a long way. Heat causes the petroleum in Aquaphor to melt, so a little goes a long way.
* For Lips; Use Aquaphor (Aquaphor Lip Balm is all appreciated). Keep thin, and rub it in. Leave no excess. A little bit goes a long way. Heat causes the petroleum in Aquaphor to melt, so a little goes a long way.
* Wash/Dry/Apply 3-5 times a day or as needed.
* If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night, go ahead and clean your tattoos. Then apply Aquaphor, Curel Ultra Healing. This will give your tattoo an extra healing edge.

DO NOT:
* Scratch, Rub, or Pick at the procedure areas. Do you want scarring? Because that’s how you get scarring. Let any scabbing or flakes fall off on their own.
* Apply makeup until your tattoos are finished pealing. Makeup can cause irritation that can lead to infection. The quicker we can heal, the sooner you can have fun.
* Get into any hot tubs, pools, hot baths or showers. Steam can negatively impact the effected areas.
* Tan. Burning (cooking) of the skin will alter the pigments and slowly destroy the skin and tattoo. You can use sunblock to increase the longevity of the tattooed areas.

What to Expect During Healing:
Day 1: Red/Pink, Inflamed/Swollen areas. Strong saturation (bold) colors.
Day 2-4: Color can potentially darken as skin is beginning to peel or scab.
Day 4-7: Much like a typical tattoo, the areas will become itchy, dry and hard. Wash/Dry/Apply and do not pick or scratch.
Day 6-10: The tattooed areas will potentially appear as if the ink faded and be patchy, uneven or nothing held. Don’t freak out, this is natural. The colors will bloom back in another 1 to 2 weeks as the inner epidermis heals.

Please follow these instructions to avoid any adverse reactions like infection, pigment loss, and discoloration.
